This policy describes how Uscan ("we") handles information when you use our Chrome extension and dashboard. We are not affiliated with Upwork.com.
What Uscan Does
Uscan is a smart assistant that helps individual freelancers evaluate job opportunities on Upwork.com. It reviews publicly available job and profile details from pages you view, matches them against criteria you define, and helps you organize opportunities you want to pursue.
Information We Handle
When you use Uscan, we process the following:
- Public content from Upwork pages you view — such as job titles, descriptions, budget ranges, and publicly listed client information — so the assistant can analyze and organize it for you.
- Your account details — your email address and an authentication token — so we can save your settings and sync them across your devices.
- Your preferences — the filtering criteria and settings you configure inside Uscan.
- Service usage records — basic logs of features you use, for the purposes of operating, securing, and improving the service.
How We Use It
We use the information only to operate the assistant: to analyze and rank opportunities for you, to generate the drafts you request, to maintain your account, and to improve the quality of the service.
We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness, for lending decisions, or for any purpose unrelated to delivering Uscan.
Third-Party Processing
To deliver our analysis features, we use trusted third-party services for intelligent analysis, secure data storage, and (for paid users) payment processing. These providers process information solely on our behalf to deliver the service to you, under their own security and confidentiality commitments. They do not use your data for their own purposes.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not access content from sites other than Upwork.com. We do not collect your Upwork login or password.
Local Storage
The extension stores your settings and recent analysis results in your browser's local storage so it can work efficiently and continue functioning briefly when offline. This data stays on your device.
Your Choices
You can stop using Uscan at any time by uninstalling the extension. You can request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us at the email below.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify active users by email for significant changes.
